Welcome to my Web site. I am a writer and public relations consultant in Des Moines, Iowa. 

During my 30+ year career, I’ve written and edited a magazine, provided public relations counsel to, and written for, the clients of two public relations agencies, and written articles for professional journals.

Currently I write regularly for magazines and newspapers, and consult. From time to time, I also teach public relations as an adjunct instructor at Drake University.  I also blog at Just Walking This Earth.

Growing Up Country: Memories of an Iowa Farm Girl: In 2008, I published a memoir about growing up in the middle of the country, in the middle of the 20th Century. Response from readers of Growing Up Country: Memories of an Iowa Farm Girl has been amazing and humbling. It never occurred to me during the writing that my stories would connect so closely with the experiences of others who “grew up country.” It’s been a pleasure to speak to so many about our shared rural experiences.
